Do not create an AI copy
A second corpus prepared for AI becomes a second corpus that can drift. The safer model is one reviewed source with several representations: accessible HTML for readers, clean Markdown for retrieval, and scoped interfaces for tools.
Structure does more than styling
Descriptive headings, stable addresses, meaningful link text, concise sections, and explicit examples help every consumer. They improve scanning in a browser, passage retrieval in search, and the context an agent receives.
- Publish semantic HTML with useful titles and descriptions.
- Expose canonical Markdown without creating duplicate indexable pages.
- Provide llms.txt as a map, not a substitute for navigation.
- Scope API and MCP access to the same visibility rules as the site.
Keep a human publication boundary
Agents are good at preparing a draft, updating repeated facts, and showing a diff. Publishing changes what readers trust. Keep that action reviewable, attributable, and permissioned.
